Welcome to Can Coco, a stunning five bedroom villa set in the beauty of the San Jose hills with breathtaking sea views toward the South West coast and the magical island of Es Vedra. The property comprises the main house and an annex surrounding an impressive pool terrace and elegant pergola above the outside kitchen, dining and lounge area. This luxury boutique villa is a truly wonderful setting for a fantastic holiday.
The main house has two en-suite bedrooms and an open plan living, dining and kitchen area. One of these bedrooms, the master suite, has striking sea views. The annex has three en suite bedrooms all with sea views. The pool, terraces and gardens have been beautifully designed and blend seamlessly with the surrounding countryside. Stays at the villa out of high season are also very comfortable due to the pool heating and heating in the outside dining and sofa area.
*If the median ambient air temperature is below the seasonal norms the pool temperature can’t be guaranteed.
Cala Conta. We love this place. It’s just wonderfully Ibiza. A slightly hippy vibe, with a DJ playing in the background, great cocktails and a pretty good Asian Med blend menu as you see the sun melt into the sea. The best sunset spot on the island? Without a doubt in our humble opinion. Slightly slow service in the peak months of summer. A nice beach to spend the day too with Formentera-esque turquoise waters. Family friendly and very laid back. Definitely come for a cocktail at the very least.
Cala Tarida. This is Cala Tarida’s most stylish and striking restaurant and beach club. The restaurant is somewhat elevated from the beach with about 50 steps up that need to be climbed but it means the views are fantastic. Offering a very good Mediterranean menu, and a lovely setting to enjoy a lunch or dinner, and a fantastic sunset. Highly recommended.
Cala d’Hort. In terms of quality of the arroces y paellas this is perhaps the best of the three Cala d’Hort restaurants. It also has stunning views over the sea to Es Vedra, but it doesn’t have easy access to the beach and is in fact a 5 to 10 minute drive inland to link with the main beach. It’s a lovely spot but if a beach restaurant is what you are after then this is not for you. Fantastic for an early dinner.
Curvy roads, pine-clad cliffs and stunning views of blue sea and speckled white yachts will accompany you on your drive down to Cala Vadella, a charming little resort town.
The sandy beach is a reasonable size and the shallow crystalline waters make it a popular choice for families all year round. The decent selection of restaurants looking out to the beach means the kids can play and you can keep an eye from your restaurant chair. For some wonderful fresh fish or paella right on the beach head to Can Jaume (+34 971 808488, www.canjaume.com). Bon Sol is a family focussed restaurant serving pizzas and other tasty, simple dishes (+34 971 808 213, Facebook: Bon Sol).
Tip: If you are feeling active, choose from a variety of water-sports readily available ranging from water skiing to snorkelling and even scuba diving.
Attracting more of an exclusive crowd thanks to its well-known beach bars and restaurants. This crescent shaped bay provides for a most spectacular view and is a great sunset spot (although you only see the sun disappear into the water, as opposed to behind the hills, in mid winter).
An extremely lively shore where there is always entertainment to be had either from the beach side or from the private yachts bobbing on anchor in the bay. large smooth rounded stones provide a dividing belt between the white sand of the beach clubs sun-beds and the clear water. Once you are in the water and out swimming it’s truly lovely but getting there can be a bit tricky as the stones make an uncomfortable entrance.
The beach clubs normally have simple wooden jetties to make access much easier but because of this and the more adult focused restaurants we don’t rank Cala Jondal as particularly kid friendly. For a long lunch drifting into off-the-beach cocktails, music and fun, however it is a great spot.
The best sunset beach on the island. Watching the sun melt into the sea here is guaranteed to deliver a truly melancholic moment. As you pull into your most photographically perfect parking spot, you know that you have arrived in paradise. Your first glimpse from the large cliff side parking area will be of the large beached-whale-like and uninhabited island of Sa Conillera. The water in Cala Conta is Formentera-esque as the abundant sand creates an aquamarine bliss.
The beach is divided into three differing sections, two are supported by more rocky background and the last has pristinely white sand dunes. Take your pick whether you veer right or left. To the West you will find families enjoying the ideally shallow, pool-like cove safe for younger kids. To the East, known as Cala Escondita, you are more likely to spend time with the nudists (who have informally claimed this section as their own).
You will find small coves of varying depths creating for an ideal snorkelling environment. It’s a stunning spot but if you swim out far into the open sea, bear in mind that the currents can pick up a bit especially towards the late afternoon and this can be deceptively dangerous.
