Leaving the pretty village of San Jose and following a country lane that snakes west through beautiful ‘campo’ for about 3km you arrive at the lovely Can Tomas. The villa is nestled on the side of a hill surrounded by terraced fields sprinkled with olive, algarroba (carrob) and almond trees. There are lovely views across the valley to the church of San Augustin as well as westward sea views to the distant headland of Cap Negret. Can Tomas has just been stylishly renovated and is a little gem which we are delighted to offer our guests. It’s a delightful house for a family or small group of friends to relax, breath in the beauty of the Ibiza countryside and truly unwind.
This three bedroom idyllic villa is very well located and perfectly formed. There are three ensuite bedrooms that can work as doubles or twins. The inside dining and living areas benefit from the stunning valley views and lead onto the large outside terraces and pool area . There is a great covered outside dining and kitchen area with inbuilt BBQ to enjoy some long Mediterranean lunches. And there are plenty of large comfortable sun beds to lie back and rest on straight after.
*If the median ambient air temperature is below the seasonal norms the pool temperature can’t be guaranteed.
Cala Conta. Located just off the famous, paradise beach, with stunning views over the turquoise waters to the island with which it shares the name. There is a large terrace under dappled shade where you can enjoy some very good seafood. The best food on the beach.
San Jose main road. Located on the main Ibiza road, 4km before San Jose village. It offers a tasty, modern menu which moves from Mediterranean to Asian dishes (and everything in between) with ease. It’s a real hit with families for a relaxed earlier sitting or for adults groups for a later sitting. It’s very close to the main road but don’t let that put you off as the Pais Vasco owners have managed to create a peaceful bamboo surrounded atmosphere on the spacious dining terraces – it’s also just a short drive from most of our villas.
Spectacular sunsets and a vast array of water-sports on offer, this beach ticks the boxes for pretty much everything you might need on a beach holiday. One of Ibiza’s longest and widest white sanded beaches, there is ample space for all the buzzing activities both in and out of the water. The beach is flanked by a few low level apartment blocks and hotels but this doesn’t overly spoil the beach.
One of the highlights of the beach are the flat rocks emerging like small platforms only meters away from the shoreline. The water depth being relatively shallow it is common to see people swimming and snorkelling out towards the rocks, discovering the rich ocean fauna or simply sunbathing on top of them. If you walk towards the left-hand side of the beach you will find a path that leads you upwards to a spot where you can best appreciate the sun setting into the bay.
Explore oriental fused with Mediterranean flavors at the excellent Cotton Beach Club (+34 971 806 180, www.cottonbeachclub.com) or for a much more simple family affair then Ses Eufables is a great spot right on the sand (+34 971 80 63 28).
A beach for all, this busy beach brags some of the cleanest and clearest swimming water on the island and is a perfect place to enjoy a long beach day. Surrounded by Ibiza’s native Sabina trees and sporting two large rock formations on either end of the beach this golden stretch of sand is extremely popular with families and locals alike. Cala Bassa has good shade and facilities galore making it an ideal family experience.
If you are in a more energetic mood try your legs at jet skiing or jumping off the rocks on either ends of the beach. Feeling slower, go to the right and sit on the rocks with the locals fishing.
Tip: Eat or drink at the stylish Cala Bassa Beach Club (+34 971 34 26 61, www.cbbcgroup.com) which has 3 different restaurants to choose from which are each targeting slightly different pockets.
This sheltered cove with its crystal clear sea waters provides for a chilled out vibe whilst only a 15-minute walk from San Antonio town. Easily accessible, Cala Gracio is a popular pick for families and locals from town.
The actual beach is lovely but not so long and fills up fast in the summer so be sure to get there early. It is also a great cove where you can snorkel as there is a perfect balance of shallow rocks and deeper water. If you feel like the crowd is getting to you either take your snorkel and swim around the rocks, or walk around the fisherman huts, to Cala Gracio’s little sister cove, Cala Gracioneta.
