August is probably the busiest month of the year and it comes chock full of activities. Here a selection of our favourite ones:

EIVISSA JAZZ FESTIVAL

A four day festival in the open air, the Ibiza Jazz Festival offers a program of concerts showcasing not only local talent, but bands from all over the world. The 30th Eivissa Jazz festival will take place from 5th to 9th September, four days of music that will welcome 7 artists or bands onto its stage. Their concerts will start at 9.30 p.m. or 10.30 p.m. depending on the programme. This year, besides the usual stage located in the Baluarte de Santa Lucía (Dalt Villa), the event will also take place on the Sota Vila square with a free concert given by Menorcan guitarist Pere Arguimbau for the opening. You can check the full programme and buy tickets on the Turisme Eivissa website.

TRADITIONAL FIESTAS

As the temperature rises in Ibiza, people look forward to celebrating the villages traditional festivals, or verbenas, which take place all over the island. From the celebration of Sant Ciriac (8th of August), the patron of Ibiza town, to the charming fiestas in the pretty village of Sant Augustí (28-29th of August), here’s everything you need to know.

OPEN AIR CINEMA

Balmy summer nights are ideal for watching a film at an open-air cinema and in the last year Ibiza open-air cinema popped out all over the island – on the beach, in hotels and private villas. If you’re coming to the island this summer and want to know where to go, take a look at our pick of the best: Paradiso Ibiza Art Hotel, featuring some artsy movies like the biographical drama film about artist “Basquiat” on the 9th of August, in the rural hotel Casa Maca – showing some classics like “Footloose” and new cult like “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “La la Land” or “A Star Is Born” or in the iconic Dalt Villa setting with Cinema Paradiso.
