June comes full of activities, from watching movies beneath the stars to enjoying live music, discover what is happening all around the island.

OPEN AIR CINEMA

Balmy summer nights are ideal for watching a film at an open-air cinema and in the last year Ibiza open-air cinema popped out all over the island – on the beach, in hotels and private villas. If you’re coming to the island this summer and want to know where to go, take a look at our pick of the best: Paradiso Ibiza Art Hotel, featuring some artsy movies like the biographical drama film about artist “Basquiat” on the 9th of August, in the rural hotel Casa Maca – showing some classics like “Footloose” and new cult like “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “La la Land” or “A Star Is Born” or in the iconic Dalt Villa setting with Cinema Paradiso.

LIVE MUSIC

From the most traditional Spanish flamenco, to the big names of pop through to the most obscure of experimental music, any music genre imaginable can be found in Ibiza, a little island bursting with live music venues. This year hot venues for summer live concerts are Hotel Santos, featuring some big names of the Spanish indie and rock scene and the hippy market of Las Dalias, featuring throughout the summer very interesting international bands like the Cuban hip hop group Orishas.

ART EXHIBITIONS

Art lovers will not be disappointed as June comes with the opening of two big exhibitions. On June 15th, La Nave Salinas welcomes the exhibition Universalis of surrealist pop artist Kenny Sharf. On June 17th, Art Projects Ibiza and Lune Rouge present ‘An Insane Desire for You‘ an individual exhibition that includes new work from Tracey Emin, with this work the artist exhibits explicit but subtle and mysterious nuances about the female body, power and desire.
