With its sunny days and beautiful beaches Ibiza is home to many beautiful beach bars (or chiringuito as they’re called in Spain), usually more relaxed than a beach club and generally rough-and-rustic in style, once you find one you like, you’ll want to keep going back!
Here are some of our favourites charming chiringuitos in Ibiza to kick back with a cocktail.
This traditional venue is located in the quiet bay of Cala Mastella. The chiringuito is one of the most old and authentic on the island, with more than 40 years – the venue is so rustic that they still cooking only with firewood! Very popular among residents and tourists, we advise making a reservation if you want to go there and enjoy its famous and delicious Bullit de Peix. Check out their Tripadvisor page.
The perfect place to celebrate the sunset in a more intimate way as the chiringuito is located on the quiet satellite beach of the worldwide known Cala Conta. Run by a young crew with a very strong sustainable vision behind, they use only solar panels for electricity, biodegradable products (no plastic & glasses) and has composting toilets. The place unfolds its magic as soon as the sun starts to set and dresses the bay in its reddish colours. As this venue is open only during the summer months, make sure to check their Facebook page.
Home of the legendary DJ Jon Sa Trinxa who arrived over 40 years ago, Sa Trinxa is one of the oldest beach bars in Ibiza and one that still manages to retain plenty of its 80’s island vibe. A wooden beach hunt located in the vivid Las Salinas beach. Don’t leave without trying their famous jug of Sangria!
An off-the-beaten-track chiringuito, Utopía is a true hidden gem nestled in the unspoiled nature near San Miguel beach. The food is any fish-lover dream, cooked directly in front of you on a grill! The chiringuito its famous for its sardines as well as sea bream, prawns and delicious octopus salads. But if you fancy meat the choices are not less delicious! Utopía opens only through the summer months, so make sure to keep an eye on their Facebook page for the opening times.
