The Michelin Guide has published its 2019 edition. In this last year, zero restaurants in Ibiza & Formentera have been awarded with the prestigious Michelin star, but there are many restaurants listed in the guide, let’s have a look at these gourmet restaurants.


Can Domo is set in the stunning countryside of Ibiza and chef Pau Barba leads the kitchen. Food is Mediterranean-inspired with plenty of local ingredients – veggies are grown in the agroturismo’s own garden, the fish is bought from the local fisherman and the meat is provided by the local farms, all these ingredients make Can Domo cuisine a must on your next visit to Ibiza.


Chef David Reartes is the frontman of the incredible RE.ART, he embraces the “Slow Food” movement. Defined by the seasons and locally sourced produce, the food highlights the best of traditional island cuisine, but with innovative modern flavour combinations and exquisite presentation. The philosophy of this restaurant is simple “Eat to be happy”, in RE.ART you will find only fresh food, made with passion and David’s creative personal stamp.


Gennaro Esposito (2 Michelin starred chef) is the executive chef with Massimo Larosa of IT Ibiza. Their dishes mix innovation with the most traditional Italian food. The homemade flavours will immediately transport you to southern Italy combined with an impressive wine list that will satisfy every connoisseur.


Dining at La Gaia promises to be an exciting experience. Óscar Molina is the executive chef of La Gaia restaurant, set in Ibiza Gran Hotel. His cuisine is a mix of Mediterranean flavours with Japan and Peru. The elaborations are characterised by a high personality in which you can taste the latest culinary trends. Avant-garde cuisine that will make you travel without having to move from the table.


Chef Gonzalo Aragüez leads a team committed to cooking with international products that are mixed with the best fresh local produce. Sa Brisa offers high-quality kitchen in small bites. The delicious takes on classic local dishes, combined with an impressive wine list and the beautiful presentation make for a particularly memorable dinner.


Run by Joan Riera and his wife Catalina in the kitchen, this family-run restaurant is located in the famously picturesque Vara del Rey, in Ibiza Town. Can Alfredo is a traditional restaurant serving authentic Ibiza cuisine, make sure not to miss its famous bullit de peix.


Can Dani is the first gastronomic restaurant in Formentera and without a doubt, one of the great references of Balearic cuisine. Its chef, Cristian Periscal, stands out for his creativity and good hand when it comes to cooking the most deeply rooted products in the Mediterranean. Its owner, Daniel Serra, recommends its clients to let themselves be carried away by the charming mixture of flavours of their tasting menus, paired, as could not be otherwise, with the best wines from the Balearic Islands.


Ca Na Joana offers traditional cuisine, intense flavors and simple elaborations, showing the maximum respect for the first quality product. Products, which, in the expert hands of Chef Jacinto del Valle, deserving of a Michelin star in 1991, are transformed into a Mediterranean proposal with winks to different international cuisines, but with clear influences from the Balearic gastronomy.
